Prayer is the cornerstone of Unity. Using the power of affirmative prayer, both Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, the founders of Unity, experienced healing of long-term physical ailments. At Detroit Unity Temple, we offer several prayer resources.
⇒Prayer Ministry. The Prayer Ministry is dedicated to providing spiritual consciousness raising of the whole person – spirit, mind and body – through the practice of prayer and praise as exemplified by Jesus Christ and the Truth principles of Unity. This service is offered in a variety of ways:
• The Monday Night Prayer Circle meets every Monday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and provides an opportunity for the participants to request and/or provide prayer. All written requests are prayed over for 30 days.
⇒Prayer Chaplains are specially trained prayer workers who hold sacred space during services, meetings, and other activities of the church. They also offer prayer after the Sunday service from 10:45 to 11:15 for those who want extra prayer.
⇒Dial-A-Thought provides an inspirational telephone message that is available continuously to callers as a guide for daily living. Call (313) 345-5070 to hear a message to help you activate your own mental powers to experience and manifest good in your life.
